ACCURATE PERCEPTION
Build a shared picture of what is reasonably knowable: evidence, uncertainty, causal structure, competing explanations, missing information, and the highest-leverage disagreements.
THE FLOW FORGE GRANT
Building the first working prototype of collective corrective capacity.
12-Month Pilot$300,000 Funding Request
Can a deliberately assembled cross-domain coalition build a more accurate, challengeable, actionable shared map — and convert that map into better coordinated action — without surrendering the independence that makes correction possible?
The unit of experimentation is the network–map–action–correction loop, not the software.
THE MISSING CAPABILITY
Civilization does not have a reliable way to turn distributed intelligence into timely self-correction.
The Flow Forge is an attempt to build collective corrective capacity.
THE CORE SEQUENCE
Build a shared picture of what is reasonably knowable: evidence, uncertainty, causal structure, competing explanations, missing information, and the highest-leverage disagreements.
Reduce the social and psychological cost of looking, speaking plainly, disagreeing, updating, and taking a bounded useful action before normalcy and status pressures dissolve the insight.
Connect people holding complementary maps and capabilities, then turn shared perception into autonomous working groups and concrete action without requiring permanent centralized control.
Accurate Perception sees it. Moral Courage names it. Capable Coordination builds the alternative.
END-OF-PILOT OUTPUTS
A small cross-domain coalition capable of thinking and acting together.
A living, challengeable representation of evidence, uncertainty, disagreement, dependencies and leverage points.
Approximately 20–30 foundational evidence packages.
CLEAR/SENSE and the supporting provenance / adversarial reasoning machinery.
Repeated map → challenge → coordination experiments.
External adversarial evaluation rather than self-declared success.
THE FIRST ROOM
Ten people who would want the other nine in the room.
Enough shared language to coordinate. Enough disagreement to remain dangerous to our own bullshit.
Bring your map. Show us what we're missing. Connect the pieces you already hold.
The larger solution will not come from one room. But it can start there.
THE EXPERIMENT
The experiment is designed around three iterative convening / work-group cycles rather than a single summit. Each cycle updates the map, the network, and the action layer.
Bring the first nodes and existing research into the same working frame.
First Room; Shared Map v1.0; disagreement register; priority board.
Can we see more of the board together than separately?
Attack v1, add missing expertise, harden the evidence, and expose weak links.
Does the map improve under serious disagreement?
Move on what survives and watch reality answer.
3–5 bounded action / coordination experiments.
Can clearer perception become better coordinated action?
OBJECTIVE ZERO
The project must remain capable of discovering that its own map, tools, priorities, or premises are wrong.
The objective is not to make our map win. The objective is to make the best available map easier to discover, harder to corrupt, and faster to correct.
EXISTING WORK
This is not funding to begin thinking about the problem.
The work ahead is to bring the strongest pieces into serious contact with the people capable of testing, improving, extending, and acting on them.
EXECUTION MODEL
The initial operating unit is intentionally small. Funding is used to create enough sustained capacity for the project to function as one integrated experiment rather than a sequence of side projects.
Entrepreneur and operator with 20+ years of continuous self-employment and hands-on business ownership experience. He has built revenue-producing service businesses and contractor networks and consulted with Fortune 500 executive leadership on operational systems, process refinement, employee performance, and workflow optimization. The Flow Forge grows from more than two decades of independent work across systems, psychology, performance, and institutional design.
Has scaled a service business beyond $300,000 in annual revenue, manages accounting, compliance, financial reporting, and audit preparation in a regulated environment, and builds CRM, automation, internal-control, and revenue infrastructure.
Case hardening, sourcing, provenance, map maintenance, expert follow-up, and research jobs.
CLEAR/SENSE implementation, benchmark work, data/provenance infrastructure, and interfaces where resources permit.
Participant recruitment, scheduling, convening logistics, shared-state maintenance, working-group support, and follow-through.
Paid external specialists and red-team reviewers who are structurally outside the project’s incentive to declare success.
CLEAR / REASONING
Human intelligence is distributed. Human attention is not.
Infrastructure serving the map and the network — not the network serving the software.
The objective is not to build an AI that tells people what to believe. It is to build infrastructure that allows people to inspect why a map of reality deserves to be believed.
Existing case artifacts already demonstrate source hardening without automatic confidence inflation, source-access honesty, contrary-evidence preservation, actor resolution, and causal-residual preservation. Whether those controls produce measurable accuracy and calibration gains against strong baselines is exactly what the external benchmark is designed to test.
WORKING ALLOCATION
The budget prioritizes the integrated human experiment, with technical development funded as an important accelerator.
| Working allocation | Amount | What it buys |
|---|---|---|
| Core personnel & operating capacity | $105,000 | Sustained project lead, research, network operations, follow-through, and integrated program management. |
| Research, case hardening & Shared Map | $45,000 | Source acquisition, domain research, 20–30 hardened cases, map production, expert follow-up, and evidence maintenance. |
| Three working convening / summit cycles | $60,000 | Participant travel support where needed, venue/meeting costs, facilitation, working materials, and high-quality convening logistics. |
| Independent review & evaluation | $25,000 | External domain specialists, red-team review, evaluation design, participant assessment, and final independent challenge. |
| CLEAR / SENSE & technical infrastructure | $35,000 | Prototype implementation, benchmark work, model/API costs, provenance/source-lineage tooling, and technical contracting. |
| Public reporting & evidence access | $10,000 | Public evaluation report, evidence interrogation materials, documentation, and communication assets. |
| Legal, administration & contingency | $20,000 | Contracting, insurance/legal/accounting needs, software, incidental travel, and contingency. |
| TOTAL REQUEST | $300,000 |
FUNDING SCALES THE EXPERIMENT
Core outside testing and outreach; map hardening; one working cycle; limited external review; manual use of existing reasoning protocols.
Meaningful First Room; two working cycles; stronger research; external evaluation; initial working groups; limited technical build.
Three cycles; permission layer; First Room; Shared Map; independent challenge; 3–5 coordination experiments; technical workstream; runway.
More team capacity, cases, specialists, convenings, deeper technical development, stronger independent evaluation, broader institutional engagement, and longer runway.
BRING YOUR MAP.
Don't trust us. Attack the map.
